The Charity Steward

The Charity Steward is basically a fund-raiser. It is at times a thankless task and may require a lot of determination to succeed. His prime responsibility is to raise monies for Masonic Charities, however he can often be found making appeals on behalf of local and non Masonic Charities. He collects donations, explains the advantages of Gift Aid forms,

Standing Orders etc. He disseminates information about the various Charities and their work, as this ensures all members appreciate the use to which their donations are put and also encourages them to be as generous as their personal circumstances permit. He does not have a particular place reserved for him in the Lodge Room.

The Jewel appended to the Charity Steward’s Collar is a Trowel.
